Pandoraverse 2

The description-y bit about Rocket Town is what got me (finally) writing today. I was bit by some of the phrasing of it when I was on my way to lunch, and wrote it down once I had the chance. I wanted a bit of exposition about Rocket Town and its history, and I felt like contrasting what it used to be with what it was now via Wutai Learnin's was a good way to go. As of now, I don't have any particular plans for Junon.
Okay, so, about Pandoraverse. It's obviously time for some tl;dr about things I believe I kept fairly quiet before. My original intention was to keep it a small story (in terms of scale and scope), write it up, and be like "BAM! there it is." That didn't happen because I was having trouble with writing the beginning. At the least, I wanted to have that written out before I talked about certain things, but again... didn't happen. That's okay, though; I like the direction certain elements have taken, and they probably wouldn't have gone that way if I'd run with the original version/idea.
I think I may have touched on this very, very briefly in a discussion before, after I started thinking about Pandoraverse. But now I shall reveal explicitly what the real inspiration for Pandoraverse was: the twins were close, so why didn't Kaito tell Yuffie about Kid from the start? For Kleptoverse, I showed you a bit that I wrote after Pandoraverse was spawned that addressed that question: Kaito just kind of got swept up into things; one thing led to another, and before he knew it, he was keeping secrets from Yuffie.
But what would have happened if they'd discovered about Kid TOGETHER?
That's the real premise for Pandoraverse, and it's why Pandora is such a prominent part of the 'verse. Finding Pandora isn't just Kaito's mission in that 'verse, it's also Yuffie's. The idea of a more FF7-like 'verse was something of a by-product: it would be interesting to explore, and a completely different setting removed any constrictions caused by adhering to events in the DC/MK canon.
In Pandoraverse, the twins are more of a team than they ever have been in Klepto/South. There were never any secrets kept about being a thief or a ninja or what-have-you. They're working together to find Pandora, and while they tend towards Kaito being in the spotlight and Yuffie in the shadows, they're on the same mission every time. In the Rocket Town heist that the scene was leading to, Kaito's particular role this time was to keep the attention of the police on him by stealing some trinket or another while Yuffie goes after their REAL target.
===
I kind of like Junon; the way that it's set up, a little like Midgar but not quite, with the two different levels n' such. Maybe one of these days, I'll play with it a little. But! Yeah, about Rocket Town; it was an effective few paragraphs - I really did like how it painted Rocket Town in a nice light, and then… bam, disappointment! My head canon for FF7!Yuffie says that she's a bit ':\' about cities that *aren't* Wutai, anyway, so.
Ooh, tl;dr! I like tl;dr. The world needs more of it. I'm… kind of glad that you got kind of blocked from writing it straight off, to be honest? I mean. It's been really neat to talk over ideas and such, and I'm definitely with you about liking how certain things have gone. … Not that I'd likely have *disliked* stuff had we not talked. And yeah; you did touch on that. I remember the conversation that we had about it. Continuing along with everything else you've said here…: I think Pandoraverse is turning out to be one of my favourites, simply *because* of the way that they're working so closely together. The conflict and such in the other verses intrigues me, but it's never really felt like they're… I'm not sure what the correct phrasing is. Equals? On the same level? Even when they've found each other's secrets, and even when Kaito's consented to letting Yuffie do little things, it's just… Yeah. So seeing them working together like this is very ♥. Keeping Kaito in the spotlight as far as that goes is totally cool; it's his place, and he's good at it.
===
Yay, glad you hear you're excite about it! I kind of want to speculate and say that maybe it's because you're actually INVOLVED with it this time? Seems like with try 1 and 2, you weren't really involved with it and wanting to get it as accurate as possible, but my assessment may be way off, since I wasn't involved, either, save for some fixes.
I'm kind of planning to have Kaito and Yuffie end up in a number of towns, and Junon is a possibility. A... distinct possibility, now that I think about it. It could have some real potential as the launching point for one part I've got planned (and want to write soon). Hmmmmm...
The secrets kept in Klepto/South, whether intentional or not, kind of set a framework of tension for the whole thing. In Pandoraverse, there's really just no *need* for them to have kept anything (like ninja training) from each other, because it's such a prominent part of their lives and the culture. I think a lot of the reason that they've got a better (and possibly closer) relationship than in Klepto/South is because they're actually... not quite so fiercely independent. They're much more willing to rely on each other, opposed to Klepto's "No, *I'm* going to protect *you*" stuff. (Heck, the willingness to rely on one another is probably part of why they often pretend to *be* each other.
Oh! I had some THOUGHTS about Kid's costume in Pandoraverse. I knew from the start that it couldn't be the canon outfit, because culturally suits are more of a Midgar thing, but I wasn't sure what to do with it... UNTIL NOW. ♥
===
I'd say that they're definitely closer in Pandora. To me, it almost seems like they know each other better; not just because they lack Huge Secrets. I'm not saying that they *don't* know each other in the other verses, but in this one… it feels different? There's more of an implicit trust and an understanding. And because of that, and because they're not quite so independent, something like "Awry" would never happen in Pandora.
Ah, I gotcha! I know what you're saying, and honestly? I think I'm pretty much the same now. The 'verses are the 'verses to me, in all their… multiverse!canon glory. Having to mold them and their lives to suit a new AU setting for an RP would just feel kind of wrong. If the opportunity ever arose to play with 'em again, in a 'pulled-from-canon' setting, though, I'd like to maybe give it a try, if you wanted to. :3 I *did* enjoy that RP over on IJ… even with the weird characters and the frequently 'WTF'-yness of it all, I enjoy playing twin!Yuffie. And I'm inclined to say that I'm better at RP than I am at fic-writing.
Ooh, do share, do share! I -- kinda started wondering about this when I saw the picture you drew of Kaito. (By the way, that makes me curious; do Yuffie and Kaito still wear the Wutaian styles of clothing when they're gallivanting around the world? I recall that you drew that one other pic where Kaito looked like a Pokemon trainer, but.)
===
I no share. I share when I write it. Yus. However, that said, I'll maybe give a tiny hint? I was required to write the intro to Rocket Town before I could write the next thing. Also, I need to decide what the trinket/doodad/thing Kid stole in Rocket Town was... I'm planning on it coming up again, because it's accidentally important. I'm leading towards it being *something* mechanical, I just can't decide what that something might be. Whatever it is, though, it's very important to some people in Rocket Town. Any ideas?
I agree with the assessment that they know each other better in Pandoraverse... They also, I think, share more, and I don't mean just the quest for Pandora. In Klepto/South, they were close, sure, but they each had parts of their lives that the other wasn't included in: Kaito had his magic (and poker) with their Dad, Yuffie had her training with their mom. In Pandoraverse, they did everything together: they both had ninja training at the shrine, they both learned slight-of-hand from their dad, they both had materia training and weapons combat training, etc. They didn't excel at the same things (Yuffie's still better at the ninjutsu and Kaito's still better at slight-of-hand), but they weren't separated by them.
Covered the Phantom Kid clothes last night, but I want to add another quick note about it... In Pandoraverse, you may have noticed I'm not calling him "Kaitou Kid." I actually can't remember my thought process behind that decision, but I'm inclined to say that it's to differentiate between the suit-wearing magician and the cloak-wearing one. The Phantom is different than the Kaitou; they've got the same sorts of principals and MO, but the Phantom version is a little more... I don't want to say "ruthless," because he's not, but he's not as soft. Also, regarding the tie to Wutaian folklore... I'm thinking that they have a lot of ghost stories, and one of them is about a one-eyed moogle. 8D
They may occasionally wear Wutaian clothes once they take off, but they're trying to lay low, so for the most part, they wear Midgar-style.
===
Expected answer is expected, but nevertheless, I sadface. … Mmn, something mechanical, with importance to Rocket Town… My immediate inclination is to suggest some kind of timepiece. Something related to the countdown to the rocket launch, maybe? I'd suggest Cid's Tiny Bronco plane-thing, but, uh, that isn't a trinket. And might be a little big. Just a little.
Yeah. They mesh together more easily? It seems to me like there's a lot less friction, or, rather, potential friction, between the two of them. I can more easily imagine Yuffie helping Kaito out with ninjutsu-y stuff and vice versa in Pandoraverse. Not that I imagine their relationship to be ~perfect~ or anything like that, though. They've still got their differences, and not just in skill-set. Or so I imagine?
Considering the different environment, I don't think he *could* be as soft as the Kaitou counterpart. Whether or not that's actually the case, I do like this idea. ♥ Out of curiosity, could you give some examples of what he does differently? … One-eyed moogle. Now I'm wondering what the story is about. In detail. Thanks, twin. 8D;
... Lawl, would Pandora!Kaito still grumble at Yuffie leaving her shorts unbottoned and such?
===
...O twin. Want to know something awesome? A timepiece was actually one of the two things I had been thinking about. The other was a "something with gears"... I'm kind of really leaning towards some sort of antique pocketwatch now.
Yeah, it's a much harsher environment. I'm trying to put my finger down on just exactly what the right way to describe the Phantom version is, but I'm sort of failing at it. Will get back to you on examples 'n' stuff. Ditto for the story of the one-eyed moogle; I need to come up with something good for it, since that's what the Phantom Kid is based on.
I don't think he would. He'd probably have been alarmed when they first got Midgar-style clothes for themselves, but after the alarm had passed, I think he would have accepted it.
===
AHAHA. Great minds think alike? /shot. Butbut, yeah, I'd totally vote for an antique pocket-watch. ♥
Yeah! That's a good way of putting it. There'd be less need for words, maybe even less need for gestures and such-like. More of an… unconscious understanding of one another? (That likely had a hand in it, amongst maybe a mixture of other stuff.) … Odd thought, here, but would you say that the "two halves of the same coin" thing still applies to the Pandora!twins? I mean, they've got more of a… "totally on the same page here" deal, whilst Klepto/South have got "Similarity/Conflict" by the bucket load. WHICH LEADS ONTO some rather random speculation, semi-linked to the tl;dr I had with Maia about the Winchesters. I'm wondering if the Pandoratwins are more dependant on each other, simply because they *have* that deep of a connection.
Interesting~! But makes sense. And thus Yuffie continues her tradition of wearing as little as she can get away with without being labelled as totally indecent by the general population… unless the whole 'laying low' thing means that she wears more nondescript stuff.
Seems to me like the Phantom… cuts a finer line, almost? It's not really something that's easy to word. And now I'm imagining that Wutai has a festival specifically dedicated to that one-eyed moogle story. Kind of because it might make somebody who dislikes the Phantom go 'saldjsalm :\
===
Antique pocket watch it is! I'm still trying to think of where, exactly, it fits into the grand scheme of Rocket Town things... I've been thinking that it has definite historical significance, but that it also has a secondary purpose to it that only a few people are aware of. Kind of thinking that maybe it hides some kind of key?
I'm going to go with this: if the Klepto/South!twins are two sides of the same coin, the Pandora!twins are two peas in a pod! (/shot for clichés)
On a more serious note, I think they still are two sides of the same coin, it just presents very differently from Klepto/South. I'd actually been thinking about the Winchester conversation a lot while we've been discussing dependency/independency... The Pandoratwins ARE, I think, in some ways more dependent on each other since they allow themselves to rely on one another, but it doesn't show too badly because they don't have the overprotective thing presenting as strongly. They're protective of each other, yeah, but not in the way they are in Klepto/South. It's like... their deeper connection kind of lets them back off a bit?
I'm aiming at her AC clothes for the general look and feel of what she wears in Pandoraverse. She may wear more clothes at times when they're especially trying to avoid notice from anyone, but on the whole, it's not that important. I think enough young girls are probably wearing similar stuff that someone might notice her but not give it too much thought. Maybe?
Haha, I like the idea of having a festival for it, or at least having it be part of a festival. I'm kind of thinking late summer or early autumn, possibly a week-long festival that has a night in particular dedicated to the moogle. (I bet the story of the one-eyed moogle was Nakamori's favorite before Kid popped up. And then he was all "You're ruining my ghost story. :(" over it.)
===
Maybe the pocket-watch itself *is* the key? Perhaps not in the obvious "lol slot this here and x will open" way, but there'd be plenty of ways that you could do something like that, if you wanted to. I kind of like the idea that it's, uh, multifunctional. (Hakuba would be salivating all over it.)
…. Twin.
Mmn, yeah, I'd say you're right about the way they're not so obviously protective of one another. It's like they trust each other more. For instance, back in Kleptoverse, Kaito *knew* that his sister could do just fine on her own ('til she went and got herself shot), but it was as if he couldn't quite accept it? And it was the same for Yuffie. In Pandora, they seem to take more responsibility for *themselves*, instead of constantly going 'must protect sibling must protect sibling' all the time. Maybe.
Her AC outfit is, in my opinion, the best of the bunch. And definitely the most *normal* looking, to boot. It's bold, but it still blends in easily enough. I can't ever see her wearing jeans (which I spelled 'genes'. Shoot me now) willingly, so… yeah, kinda lost where I was going with that chain of thought. Whoops.
For some reason, I've started imagining it having something to do with the harvest. And I like the idea of it being a week-long thing! I was going to go 'o hay my fic involves a festival, maybe that could be it!', but then I remembered that the season would be wrong. (… Completely unrelated, kind of, but I was wondering. D'you have any plans for Jii-chan? I can kinda see him owning the Turtle's Paradise place.)
===
I kind of want to play with the internal gears of the watch for the "key" part... I like gears. And oh man, I may have to have the Rocket Town heist be Hakuba's first appearance. He can be all "The Phantom Kid is trying to steal WHAT? How dare he!" Maybe any later heist appearances can be him trying to catch Kid to get the watch back. |D;;
I kind of failed at looking at it this way until you pointed out that Klepto!Kaito doesn't want to accept that Yuffie can look after herself, but... I think that in addition to being willing to rely on each other, they're also much more willing to *accept* help. It's actually a pretty major difference... In Klepto/South, they each want to protect the other, but they don't want to be the one being protected. In Pandora, they kind of accept all of it. (I'm not saying that they don't have moments of "What do you think you're doing? :|", but...) It's probably a good thing that they have that kind of relationship in Pandoraverse, given the roles they'll have to settle into in the future... And honestly, knowing those roles may have had some kind of influence in developing their relationship.
That'd work! Also, looks good!
Unless she's pretending to be Kaito? I think the closest she'd ever get to actual slacks or jeans are capris.
Ooh, a harvest festival sounds great! It's official. And no, I don't have any plans for Jii-chan yet, but the Turtle's Paradise sounds like a good fit for him. I like it! I kind of picture him as having been in the palace as some kind of... not a servant, but an assistant of some kind? And after the war, he resigned and left. Maybe the Turtle's Paradise was a family-owned business and he had a son (who had been running it) that died in the war, so he went back to it.
===
Gears are fun! I like them, too. Also, DO IT. Maybe his family owns the watch, or something? That way he really *can* be all "gtfo my watch :|" at it all… or, well, just moreso than he might've been otherwise? Idk. And I *love* the idea of him making appearances at later heists, so he can try to get it back! Lawl. I think I actually prefer it to his canon-Kid-chasing exploits.
Oooh, yeah, that's another thing. In KleptoSouth, they're a little one track minded about the whole protectiveness thing. Or. Okay, they're *very* one track minded, and even after everything that happens, I don't think they'll really ever get over that. They generally wouldn't ask for help, and would be stubborn about receiving it… but then when it comes to *giving* help, they're almost the opposite? Something like that. And yeah, I agree that having those future roles already set out probably helps a *lot*. Less tl;dr summary = KleptoSouth "I'mma protect *you*! Vs. Pandora "We protect each other"?
Ahh, yeah. Unless she's pretending to be Kaito. And I totally forgot about capris! Khakis as well? Unless they're the same thing. **wikis**
♥ I like harvest festivals! Haven't been to one in years, but. They're fun. I'm a little tempted to suggest that he was Toichi's personal assistant, but either way, I can totally see him resigning after the war to return to the family business. … And now I'm remembering pondering over Verdot ending up in Turtle's Paradise at some point. That'd be… interesting, wat.
===
I think he's just a fanboy of the watch; having his family involved with it doesn't fit other plans for it at all. Anyway, trying to get the watch back... it comes across as a stronger motivation for chasing Kid than his canon version has. (Granted, I think Hakuba gets a motivation in canon in the form of his rivalry, but initially? It was kind of just "he's a criminal and he's out there, so I'm going to catch him" thing.)
If anything, everything that happens in Klepto/South just INCREASES the singleminded overprotectiveness. But yeah, they'll do whatever they possibly can to protect/shelter the other, but they absolutely refuse to accept any help themselves. But yeah. In Pandoraverse, with both of them realizing that Kaito's going to be ruler (lawl) of the country and Yuffie's going to be protector of the country, they're much more mellow(?) about that kind of thing. Of the two, I think Yuffie's probably the more protective of the two in Pandoraverse, and Kaito's much more willing to accept any protectiveness than in Klepto/South because she's just doing her job?
I've never been to one, but the imagery and whatnot appeals to me. Personal assistant works; he has to have been close to Toichi. I'm sure the twins were close enough to him that they often go to the Turtle's Paradise to visit. Oh, poor Jii-chan. Lost his kid (and wife, I'm sure, but I see that as having been long before the war, possibly to illness), lost his ruler and boss... Speaking of which, I've been dancing around the terminology for the country of Wutai. Was Toichi the king? Emperor? Chieftain? Big Kahuna? I'm partial to emperor, myself, because it's much more Chinese/Japanese-ish.
===
Ahh, okay! So, will this Hakuba be developing a similar sense of rivalry at all? … Though actually that'd be kind of hard, since there's no school setting for them to 'socialize' in or anything. Anyway, yay, motivation. It adds a little extra depth to it right from the off, so I'm all in favour of him wanting that watch back "last week, thank you very much. :|".
… Haha, yeah, pretty much! And not only that, but it also boosts their unwillingness to accept help from the other, since it almost always leads to Bad Stuff Happening. Those two are…. Almost kind of uptight, in a way. That's an odd thought. And I agree that they're more mellow about it, and that Yuffie's the more protective; it fits her role and it fits her nature. I mean. She'd let him fight his own battles (in any sense of the word) whenever possible, but there'd be no hesitation if she wanted to/had to step in. (I'm… kind of trying to base this on my perception of her attitude to Wutai, in FF7. Kind of. … Hm. Which leads me to thinking that in her *heart*, what's good for Kaito still tops what's good for Wutai, but. Hmm.)
It wasn't much of a harvest festival, to be honest. The one that I actually *remember*, anyway; I'm pretty sure that I've attended a 'real' one but… my old primary school's version of a harvest festival was visiting an old people's home with a few baskets of fruit and a couple of tins of soup. Poor Jii-chan for sure; losing, uh, pretty much everything… that must suck. A lot. And I vote illness for his wife. Mm, terminology… lessee. Personally, when I'm talking about Wutai n' stuff in Damned, I always use 'emperor'. Yuffie gets the title 'Lady Yuffie', etc, amongst her many self-appointed honorifics (though I'm almost tempted to say that her 'flower of Wutai' one has some basis in actual formality, because I kind of like it).
===
I think he will, but not quite at first; he has to have a reason to keep pursuing Kid despite the watch. Hurt pride, or whatnot. After the first couple of heists where he's around, I kind of want the twins to start running into him frequently. I'm not sure how quickly he'll realize about Kaito = Kid, if at all, but I can't resist him getting to know the twins.
Well, the great thing for Yuffie is that helping Kaito helps Wutai? I mean, the country already went through losing its ruler once; for it to lose its crown prince would be yet another blow for a country that can't really handle that right now. But yeah, I get the idea that Kaito's still a bit higher on her priority list.
I think he kind of regards the twins as grandchildren even though they're not related to him, so that kind of helps? A little. But yeah, sucks to be him. Okay, so, in Pandoraverse, "the Flower of Wutai" is OFFICIALLY one of Yuffie's titles. Because. (I'm laughing over the idea of her having a billion official titles that actually have to be announced in any formal setting.) And we're going with Wutai being an empire, then. It fits best.
===
Maybe have the twins yank him out of trouble on/after a heist, or something? Whether the 'trouble' be the dangerous kind, or the kind that's more… idk. Him winding up in trouble with somebody higher up on the Kid-chasing food chain? Failing that, there's always the old fanfic cliché of the hero and the antagonist being locked in a cabin during a snow-storm! /shot. If he doesn't ever actually figure out that Kaito = Kid, I can kinda see it turning into a situation reminiscent of Kaito and Heiji at Damned.
Yup~! I'm kind of liking how 'fragile' Wutai is, in an odd way. Which is completely irrelevant, but there you go! So, here's an odd-random-stupid question; are the Wutaians - the royal family, specifically - *okay* with the twins having run off? I know that they're covering for 'em by saying that they're holed up in the palace, but I can't remember if this has been confirmed or not already.
A little. Grandkids who probably give him a heart-attack every other day. ALSO YAY. Specific flower, or just general flower? I don't think the sub version of DoC specified (… Uh, what was it? "Wutai no ichirin no hana?" Something like that), but the dub was all "Single White Rose", so. (Billion different titles for the win. Yuffie probably amuses herself by… creatively altering them wherever possible.) Woot, empire it is!
===
Eh, I was thinking something simpler; there doesn't need to be some grand scheme to bring him and the twins together, though it may come to that. I'm partial to the idea of meeting coincidentally again and again, and Hakuba can eventually be all "I sure run into you guys a lot wherever Kid's got a heist. :|" and the twins can be all "Uh, we're fans?"
Wutai's post-war position kind of fascinates me, and moreso for Pandoraverse than FF canon. And no, the Wutaians are not at all okay with them having run off. They're trying desperately to find them, but there's only so much they can do while still keeping the situation quiet. If Wutai citizens figure it out, it's not a huge deal, but they absolutely do NOT want the international community to catch wind of the crown prince and princess having vanished. They're worried that if that happens, the twins'll turn up dead.
I'm going to say just "flower," so she can embellish it however she so chooses. As for "Wutai no ichirin no hana"... They made up the "white rose" part. It's really just "The flower of Wutai" or the "single flower of Wutai"; hana is generically "flower" and -rin is, if I'm recalling correctly, the counter for such things. Counters by themselves have no meaning, but they kind of denote what type of item is being counted? But yeah, "ichirin no hana" would be used for counting one flower.
===
Ahaha, I like the idea of coincidence a lot more than what I was thinking. Simple, yet fun. And I'm a fan of anything that'll give Hakuba a headache. ♥
Perhaps because we've developed it a little more? I mean, in FF7, they don't go into it in much more detail than "ShinRa stomped Wutai, it became a tourist trap, and Yuffie is Unhappy about this". We've actually delved into the ~politics~, sort of. Which is... definitely turning out to be one of my favourite things about this 'verse. And, actually? Now I'm *definitely* gonna have Shinichi find himself being dragged to the palace-or-whatever after being mistaken for Kaito.
Good plan. Yuffie's got kind of an extraordinary vocabularly; it's so much fun to play with. I mean. Even as a 9 year old she was spouting some kinda lulzy-almost-eloquent things, mixed in with the usual childish insults.
===
I think Hakuba's going to quickly find how much he coincidentally runs into them very, very suspicious. He'll probably suspect that they have SOMETHING to do with Kid... even if he's not positive that one of them might be Kid. Yet.
Yeah, that's probably it. Have I ever mentioned that while I hate, hate, hate discussing RL politics, I tend to love politics in fictions? The politic intrigue in FMA is one of my favorite things about it. Ah, poor Shinichi. It'll be hilarious, of course, but all the same: poor Kudou.
So which would Yuffie hate more: dresses or formal Wutaian clothes?
===
I can kind of see him making a point to find them before/during/after a heist, when he notices that they're *always* there for 'em. If he starts suspecting them as accomplices… that could be fun? Maybe. Poor guy'll get such a headache.
Politics in fiction is cool! I love reading about it, myself, and I love coming up with it/discussing it. The more well thought out, the better, though obviously there doesn't need to be a whole ton of detail about totally irrelevant stuff. And, yes. ♥ Poor Shinichi's in for a bit of trouble. I think I might re-order/re-structure my planned set of events for the fic, just so I can have this happen the right way. Might include Jii-chan. Will have to see.
Mmm. Good question. Formal Wutaian clothing she *likes*, but she isn't too fond of… y'know, wearing. Plus points if it isn't overtly feminine or anything like that. Dresses… she just plain doesn't like. Too girly, not functional, doesn't have *anything* to excuse it's lameness like Wutaian Formal does. So, I'd say that she dislikes them both, but in different ways?
===
Hakuba'll totally be hot on their trail. I can kind of see him managing to follow them one time when they skip town after a heist and head to another town, and then he can "Hmm" over Kid's notice showing up in that new town right after they get there.
I've got this humorous image in my head of the royals trying to shove formal clothes onto Kudou after they abduct him. And of it taking either Jii-chan or Mommy or Aoko to finally be "That's not Kaito. :|" at them.
Makes sense to me. Of course, now I want to concoct a situation where she has to dress up in some really frilly, girly dress. 8D
===
Haha, I'd like to see the twins talk their way out of *that* one. You can only hide behind 'luck' so many times, and I doubt "Maybe he's stalking us!" would cut it as a good, plausible excuse.
Actually... here's a silly little idea. Even after it's been proven that Kudou is NOT Kaito, d'you think that the royals might try to use him somehow? Like. To throw off anybody who'd be suspicious that the twins really had gone running off into the wild unknown.
A dress like this, Twin? 8D http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/photos/uncategorized/2007/03/25/girlydress.jpg And this one I'm linking just 'cuz the colours remind me of a pretty stone I once saw. http://img.alibaba.com/photo/11896100/Prom_Dress.jpg
===
I am very much looking forward to Hakuba's inclusion in Pandoraverse now; I always expected him to show up sooner or later, but I didn't have any actually PLANS for him. And I totally love that he's coming in because of a watch. 8D
It's very possible. I'm sure they'd at least try to get him to pose as Kaito to make a quick public appearance... Whether or not he'd agree would be another matter, of course.
Yes! Something ruffled like that! ...That second dress is really pretty. That second dress might be even better, actually, because it's really girly in an elegant, feminine way (and Yuffie would hate it) rather than a cutesy way...

I'm sure they'd have *something* that they could tempt him with. Failing that, they could always play the "the fate of our blahblah rests on your shoulders!" card, though, I dunno. They might be too proud for that.
Good point! It'd probably be a different colour, though. Maybe. I'm not sure if those shades would really suit Yuffie overly much. … Or maybe they would? I'm not sure. I just find it easier to picture her in shades of… say, blue.

I think their first inclination would be to pay/bribe him for services rendered. If that doesn't work, I can see them attempting to appeal to his sense of justice, but they'd play their cards carefully. I kind of think that at that point, Mommy might kick all the royals out of the negotiations and speak to Kudou herself, and she wouldn't try any kinds of tricks. I think she'd simply tell him that her children were missing and their country needed to buy some time in order to continue searching for them without causing an international incident.
It may not be a color she herself would pick (or would she? See: yellow shorts), but I think she'd look fine in just about any color.

Mommy intervention sounds like a viable plan. Jii-chan would be too flaily, if he even got a chance to speak with Kudou at all. And… I can see Kudou *eventually* deciding to go along with it. I think he'd react better to Naomi's straightforward honesty, at any rate. Hmm. And now this is giving me even MORE ideas. Thanks, Twin. |D Thanks a *bunch*

I agree that he'd definitely prefer Naomi's honesty over the palace's bullshit. And ideas are good. Want to share? :D
Who says she's the one who gets to choose it? 8D

They'll have to chase her down and sit on her before she wears it. 8D 8D

What if she has no choice? 8D 8D 8D

Then she will have her revenge. 8[ 8[ 8[ 8[

Date: 2010-12-24 12:21 am (UTC)..O twin. Want to know something awesome? A timepiece was actually one of the two things I had been thinking about. The other was a "something with gears"... I'm kind of really leaning towards some sort of antique pocketwatch now.
I think the meshing may be because they... it's like they're more attuned to each other. They're on the same wavelength. Their Kleptoverse counterparts have that to some degree, when it comes to thinks like pranks, but I'm thinking the Pandoraverse ones can communicate a lot more in just a glance or gesture. Each has a better understanding of how the other thinks (possibly due to experience in taking each other's place for fun?).
